Former Ole Miss football standout and current Biloxi Mayor A.J. Holloway will be stumping for an old friend on Wednesday at The Fillin’ Station on Howard Avenue in Biloxi.
Holloway will speak to the gathered crowd on a stop of the “Colonel Reb Road Tour’’ which will be coming to Pascagoula and Biloxi on Wednesday as part of an eight-city tour across Central and South Mississippi. The tour is being run by the Colonel Reb Foundation, a group working to get Colonel Reb reinstated as the Ole Miss mascot.
Colonel Reb was replaced by a Black Bear named “Rebel.’’
“It’s hard not to come down on the side of the tradition,’’ Holloway said of his planned appearance at Wednesday’s event in Biloxi. “They asked me to talk about my playing days. In three years, we lost just one game and tied one game.’’
Never miss a local story.
