The National Weather Service has updated its fog advisory, saying the dense fog is expected to persist along the Coast through the night and into the early morning hours.
Visibility will be about a quarter mile or less near the coastline.
The fog is expected to dissipate after midnight, when rain moves in. The advisory, issued for Harrison, Hancock and Jackson counties, is extended through 3 a.m. Saturday.
Visibility is reduced to less than a quarter mile at times.
Motoristis are advised to drive with low beams on and keep plenty of space between their vehicles and the vehicles ahead of them. Allow extra time for traveling.
