A Pass Christian man who lost control of his truck Wednesday night on Mississippi 53 died overnight, Mississippi Highway Patrol said in a press release.
The 31-year-old man, Jake Schorghofer, was in a 2007 black Ford F-150 traveling westbound on Mississippi 53 when he drove off the right side of the road, according to initial investigation. The driver over corrected and went off the left side and rolled over several times.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck, said Chase Elkins, spokesman for MHP.
Chief Deputy Coroner Brian Switzer said speed was a factor in the collision. Toxicology tests also are being performed, but it will take some time to get results from the state crime lab.
