Emergency crews are working to clear several wrecks on Interstate 10 near the Gautier exit in Jackson County.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins said the first wreck was at 5:15 a.m. An 18-wheeler overturned in the eastbound lane of I-10 near the 59-mile marker.
Elkins said no injuries were reported. The truck was hauling lumber, which is being removed from the interstate.
The traffic slowdown caused another wreck west of the first one.

Elkins said MHP is also working a two-vehicle accident with injuries. He said a car rear-ended an 18-wheeler that was slowing down because of the first wreck. A third happened shortly before 7 a.m., Elkins said.
The wrecks have brought traffic to a standstill on eastbound I-10 in parts of Jackson County.
“Drivers should think about finding another way if they are planning on taking I-10 near Gautier,” Elkins said. “Traffic is backed up for more than 5 miles.”
