The Biloxi School Board today will consider an offer from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for $1.5 million to reopen Nichols Elementary.
The item was added Monday afternoon to the agenda for today's meeting, which begins at 5 p.m.
In August, the foundation offered the district the grant, which would be paid over three years in installments of $450,000. In September, the School Board tabled the item, with members saying they would like to meet with the foundation board before deciding whether to accept the grant.
Members of the Kellogg Foundation were in Biloxi this week but said their schedule was full and they didn't have time to meet with the school district.
