HARRISON COUNTY -- A police K-9 bit a man deputies were trying to apprehend on a charge of stabbing a woman in the back.
Woodrow McGill, 44, of Heatherwood Lane in Gulfport, faces a charge of aggravated domestic assault.
Deputies learned of the stabbing while responding to a home on Heatherwood about 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Sheriff Troy Peterson said.
The woman said McGill had stabbed her and left the house, he said.

The woman was taken to Garden Park Medical Center, where her condition was listed as stable, Peterson said.
A Gulfport police K-9 officer responded to an alert on McGill's description and found him a short distance away. The dog bit McGill on the leg.
Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner set bond at $125,000.
Peterson said McGill was taken to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport for the dog bite.
