Fountainebleau and Ocean Springs fire departments are battling a woods fire west of Mississippi 57 and north of U.S. 90, fire officials said.
Ocean Springs Police have recently completed door-to-door advisories at the Highland and Cabanas mobile home parks on Gibson Road, recommending evacuations as a safety precaution because of their proximity to the fire, police officials said.
Ocean Springs firefighter Keith Guice said Ocean Springs joined Fountainebleau in battling the blaze.
Smoke can be seen for miles, witnesses said. A helicopter is surveying the fire and fire trucks are in the area.

All three South Mississippi counties are under a burn ban because of dry conditions. Residents are reminded not to burn anything outside.
