Investigators are still on the scene of a fire that caused major damage to two homes and also damaged another home and two to three cars, officials said.
When Gulfport firefighters responded to the blaze shortly after midnight in the 1600 block of 20th Street near Pratt Avenue, they found two houses fully involved with smoke and fire damage to another house, Lt. John Thornton said.
Several vehicles also were damaged.
Firefighters remained on scene for nearly four hours, he said.
Thornton said two of the homes were vacant. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
