The City Council voted unanimously to buy the old Biloxi Library and refurbish it for city use.
The city plans to tear down the City Hall annex to add parking space and use the library building to house those offices that were in the annex, including finance and recreation.
Money for the purchase and refurbishing work will come from FEMA funds for building repairs, as well as a grant from the Department of Archives and History.
The Council also voted to send the Hidden Springs development in Woolmarket back to the Biloxi Planning Commission, which approved it the first time, because the developer has made changes.
