Gulfport firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment complex on 45th Avenue Tuesday morning.
Eighteen firefighters were dispatched to the call, officials say.
The 12-unit, two-story building was smoking from the bottom floor unit. Firefighters arrived within three minutes of the call and were able to contain the fire to one apartment.
The tenants of the unit were not at home at the time of the fire.
There was some smoke in adjoining apartments, which were ventilated until cleared.
The fire, which began in a bedroom, was under control within 10 minutes, officials say. There were no injuries reported and neighboring tenants were able to return to their homes.
Investigators are working to determine the cause.
