Diamondhead resident and financial planner Michael Reso was named the new city manager in Diamondhead on Tuesday.
Reso is the third city manager since Diamondhead was incorporated in 2012. Previous manager Clovis Reed, who replaced Richard Rose, resigned in May.
Reso has lived in Diamondhead for 11 years and has worked for the past seven years as a financial adviser, helping clients protect their family and businesses and achieve their financial goals.
He previously was director of finance and advancement at St. Stanislaus College for 12 years, and was an assistant prefect. He also worked for Camp Stanislaus for 18 years as a counselor, camp director and president of the board.
Never miss a local story.
A graduate of Loyola University, he has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in accounting. He also is an elder for Diamondhead Community Church and serves as chairman of the Finance and Stewardship Committee.
In his new position, Reso will focus on priorities set by the mayor and council such as public safety, beautification, removing blighted properties and slabs and economic development initiatives.
“I love the safety, beauty and amenities that Diamondhead has to offer, and I will work closely with our mayor and council to advance our young city,” he said.
