One person was taken to a New Orleans hospital by helicopter after a one-vehicle wreck on Interstate 10 in Hancock County, a Mississippi Highway Patrol official said.
MHP Spokesman Chase Elkins said six people were inside of a Lexus LX 400 that was traveling westbound Friday afternoon when the driver went off the road into the median.
The SUV then rolled several times before coming to rest upside down, Elkins said.
Elkins said the wreck occurred near mile marker 2.
Westbound lanes were closed while officials got the occupants to hospitals and cleared the roadway, but they re-opened about 4:45 p.m.
All six occupants sustained minor injuries in the wreck, Elkins said. Three of them were transported to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, two were taken to Garden Park Hospital, and one person was taken to University Medical Center in New Orleans by Life Flight helicopter.
The wreck is under investigation.
