A popular Hancock County campground is under new ownership and changes are on the horizon.
The land that once housed Muddy Joe’s Off Road and RV Park has been sold and a new company, Muddy Buddy’s, has set up shop on the property.
“We have an LLC and we purchased the land from the former owner and we are going to operate the property under the name Muddy Buddy,” said property manager Buddy Hall. “We purchased the property from a man in New Orleans.”
Hall said the property has been an RV park for about 30 years.
Never miss a local story.
He said he plans to begin about a lot of changes to the campground.
“We’re going to have a full-service restaurant that should be up and going by Halloween,” Hall said. “We have a lot of things in store.”
One of the things he said he hopes to do is make the place more “family-friendly.”
“We are going to add some more paddle boats and a petting zoo and zip lines,” Hall said. “We are just going to do what we can and work on it as we go.”
Hall said that a Shooter Jennings concert scheduled at the park for Nov. 5 will take place.
“If people have already bought tickets, we will honor them,” he said.
The show is still listed on Jenning’s website.
