The Biloxi bomb squad has determined that a suspicious device found at the scene of a house fire in Vancleave is not a bomb.
Sheriff Mike Byrd said after investigating, it was determined it was an empty shell casing. The bomb squad was called out as a precaution.
The bomb squad had been called to investigate a suspicious device found in the rubble of a vacant house that burned overnight in Vancleave.
"We don't think it's a bomb, but we're not taking any chances," he said.
The house was destroyed by fire about 2 a.m. Byrd did not give the location of the house for safety reasons he said.
