A Lake Charles man has been charged with embezzlement after he failed to deliver a Gulfport company's tractor and trailer to Oklahoma.
Barry E. Forshee, 49, of the 900 block of Gulf Avenue, was arrested April 29 on the felony charge and taken to Harrison County jail on a $25,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Dianne Ladner, Sheriff Melvin T. Brisolara said in a release to the media Monday.
According to the press release, officials at Rocking C Trucking Co. on Canal Road reported on April 18 that Forshee, an employee there, left in a tractor/trailer rig on April 14 to make a delivery in Oklahoma and never arrived.
Forshee and the rig were listed on NCIC as a welfare concern, Brisolara said.
The trailer and contents were found in a parking lot in Gulfport.
The tractor was recovered April 21 after contact was made with Forshee, he said.
