Four York County law enforcement officials were shot and injured responding to a domestic violence call late Monday. York County Sheriff's Office spokesman Trent Faris did not release the conditions and identities of the officers Tuesday morning.
In honor of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the town of Fort Mill held a food and supply drive Monday at the historic Spratt Building on Main Street. The donations will be passed along to the Fort Mill Care Center and other agencies that help those in need.

Newly-elected Rock Hill Mayor John Gettys said the community needs to work to ensure all citizens of Rock Hill "reap the benefits of our shared prosperity." Gettys replaces Doug Echols, who served as mayor for 20 years. Gettys defeated candidate William "Bump" Roddey in a runoff election on Oct. 31, 2017 after narrowly losing the general election by less than three dozen votes on Oct. 17.
Nikita Jackson defeated incumbent Anne Williamson and candidate Brandon Smith last October for the Rock Hill City Council Ward 5 seat. Jackson said she would work to slash utility rates and will help educate Ward 5 residents on how to become more energy-efficient.
Keystone Substance Abuse Services held the sixth annual Joe Davis Run for Recovery in Walter Elisha Park in downtown Fort Mill, South Carolina. Despite temperatures barely above 10 degrees, hundreds of runners showed up for the event, a fundraiser for Rock Hill-based Keystone, which serves all of York County.
