George County High School baseball player Dylan Eubanks is a cancer survivor who received treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In October he had the idea to raise some money for the facility. He and his teammates have raised more than $6,000, and he and three others promised to shave their heads when they hit $5,000.
The Ocean Springs Police Department is asking the public to help identify a man who dumped out the contents of a purse into a trash can on Nov. 20 at Bao Wow's service station in Ocean Springs. Police say the contents of the purse contained items from several auto burglaries in the city. If you can identify the driver of the vehicle, call the Ocean Springs Police Department at 228-875-2211.
Two Jackson County first responders, Coty Peardon and Tyler Niblett, were named Acadian Ambulance Service’s Paramedic of the Year and EMT of the Year. Both came into the business though Explorer programs.
Former Ocean Springs Hospital administrator Dwight Rimes wants women in Mississippi to be told by their doctors if they have dense breasts. His wife is now battling Stage IV breast cancer after getting annual screenings as required. She has dense breasts, which make detecting cancer via mammograms more difficult.
Stephanie Morris of the Cypress Pointe neighborhood off of Canal Road in Harrison County wonders if there should be more involvement among the families in her neighborhood to provide support for each other. “there was a problem, and I wish we could have helped,” she said.
