His wife is now battling Stage IV breast cancer after getting annual screenings as required. She has dense breasts, which make detecting cancer via mammograms more difficult.
Better Free Health Clinic has been in operation since Hurricane Katrina. They have recently lost all their doctors and has temporarily suspended operations while they look for new volunteer help to serve those people in Biloxi who do not have insurance or access to health care.

North Gulfport Middle School was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon after police received a phone call regarding a possible threat at the school. Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania addressed residents after the lockdown was lifted and then Sandra Willis led a prayer circle. At least two juveniles were detained as part of the investigation, but no one had been charged as of 2 p.m. according to police PIO Sgt. Clayton Fulks.
