Police now on patrol at D’Iberville Marina
D’IBERVILLE — D’Iberville police have been authorized to patrol the area around the D’Iberville Marina, Police Chief Wayne Payne announced at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
Payne said City Manager Michael Janus is reorganizing various procedures and has placed the harbor under the responsibility of the Police Department. Payne said patrols by foot and on car will help residents who enjoy the marina feel more secure.
“We’re making sure security issues are taken care of,” Payne said.
The marina, on Back Bay under Interstate 110, is a popular launch site for boaters.
