Nowhere else in the world is pizza the mania it is in the United States.
If you go to Italy, you will be surprised at what you get when you order a pizza. It bears little relationship to the American pie.
There are numerous combinations that work on a good pizza. The list of ingredients is just too large to itemize.
Here is a recipe for a 12-inch homemade pizza

Homemade dough or store bought (ask you local baker for uncooked dough)
1/2 cup red sauce
8 thin slice pepperoni
1/4 cup Italian sausage
1/4 cup fresh diced tomato
2-3 pinches fresh thyme
Preheat the oven as hot as you can get it. Roll out the dough as thin as you like it and anoint it with olive oil. Apply the sauce (please do not add so much the pizza is swimming it in, just a thin layer will do). Evenly space the pepperoni and cooked sausage, which should be taken out of the casing. Add the tomatoes and sprinkle on the thyme. Don’t add any dried spices or herbs, especially dried oregano. Italians almost always use fresh herbs. Bake until bubbly hot and the crust is done.
