I have admitted my weakness for burgers, cheese burgers in particular.
I know of a handful of good burgers to be had on the Coast, and two or three that make the killer category.
A lot goes into a better burger, starting with good beef. Select, choice and prime are the three grades of beef and prime obviously is the best, but it is pricy and hard to find.
The meat you want has got to have a good fat content, sadly to say, fat equals flavor.
Never miss a local story.
The other options are toppings and condiments, but again, simple is best. Give me a great quality burger, lots of good melting cheese and go light on the bun; I don’t want to fill up on bread.
If I had to pick a side to go along, it would be beer-battered onion rings, but let's leave it at that.
