I am a believer in culinary simplicity.
Really good foods don't need to be couched in multiple layers of flavor but should stand pretty firmly on their own.
A juicy summer peach is just fine by itself.
That being said, some things just naturally go together; they may be good on their own, but when holding hands they sing a finer tune.
A great example of that idea is a bowl of good pasta combined with a simple tomato sauce and a few curls of Parmigiano-Reggiano.
If you've got it, you just might add a few drops of good olive oil, but that’s it. I am not sure there is anything better.
