Today is the last day in a week of blog posts about food inspired by meatless requirements for those who observe Lent.
I can think of few foods better suited for the season than Gulf oysters. Fried, broiled or raw, they are wonderful.
If you serve them raw, all you need is a slice of lemon and a drop of hot sauce. If you want to fry them, toss them in tempura powder, then Panko bread crumbs. Fry in hot oil for no more than 1 minute.
