HANCOCK COUNTY -- Remains found in a body of water on Sunday were being recovered about 7 p.m., too early in the investigation for authorities to release much details.
Chief Deputy Don Bass of the Hancock County Sheriff's Office said some youths were in an area of small lakes or ponds off Lakeshore Road and Third Marsh Road late Sunday afternoon and saw a body floating facedown.
They called the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, which has an office not far away near the Silver Slipper Casino, Bass said.
Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk met officers at the scene.
