 More than 100 Coast homeless men and women received coats, blankets, tents, sleeping bags and other camping gear during Camping for Hope, hosted by Gulf Coast Community Ministries. The giveaway was Saturday on U.S. 90 in downtown Gulfport. In its third year, Camping for Hope is supported by collection drives and financial support from First Baptist Church of Gulfport, Northwood Church, Gulf Coast Business Supply and many others. The goal of the giveaway is to help prepare homeless men and women for the winter's cold. Free breakfast, first aid, haircuts and Bibles were also provided.
