Tips for safe turkey frying
n Frying a turkey uses a lot of oil. Be sure to use the recommended amount of oil based on the weight of the turkey.
n Make certain the turkey is completely thawed and excess moisture is removed before frying.
n Do not fry turkeys in enclosed areas or on decks or patios.
n Use caution when removing the turkey from the oil to minimize splatter.
n Should you have a cooking fire, do not use water to extinguish the flames. Instead, use a fire extinguisher or call 911.
