The average temperature last month was 48.8 degrees F. The record came in 1976, a full 3 degrees cooler.
Neighboring Alabama also had the second-coldest November in its recorded history; Louisiana's was third.
The year-to-date average temperature in the state is the fifth coldest in recorded history.
