East Mississippi Community College offensive lineman Jamal Daley recently verbally committed to Oklahoma.
Mississippi State, Louisville, Florida and Cincinnati were among the schools that offered Daley, until he chose the fourth-ranked Sooners.
Oklahoma will have to replace three offensive linemen next season, which was why Daley is headed to Norman, Okla.
"That was a major deal, I'll be coming in with two years so I have to get on the field," Daley told SoonerScoop.com. " I'll be enrolled in January and ready to go," he explained. "Also, the crowd, the atmosphere, that was my first time out there. That shocked me how loud they could get and seeing the weight room and everything.
Never miss a local story.
"I was talking to my dad during the game, just telling him how the meetings and everything went and he said 'if you feel like it, go ahead and commit. I told coach Bill Bedenbaugh after the game and I told coach (Bob) Stoops after that. They told me it was great and they were happy to have me."
