D'Iberville running back Quantrell Reddix is no longer headed to Louisiana-Lafayette next season.
The Sun Herald's All-South Mississippi performer has de-committed to Louisiana-Lafayette, his only Division I scholarship offer.
ULL wanted the two-time 1,000-yard rusher to play linebacker, a position he played sparingly with the Warriors.
"I thought about playing linebacker, but I'd rather not," Reddix told the Sun Herald on Saturday.
Never miss a local story.
Reddix will sign with either Central Arkansas, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College or Pearl River Community College on Wednesday. At either one of those schools, he won't change positions.
"UCA came down and said they needed a big running back, as did Pearl River and Gulf Coast," Reddix said. "They convinced me."
UCA is coached by former MGCCC coach Steve Campbell.
