Brookhaven QB Fred Trevillion has verbally committed to San Diego State.
Trevillion surprisingly got an offer from the Aztecs and once he visited San Diego, the All Region 3-5A star chose SDSU.
"From the coaches to the assistants to the players, they all want to help each other and do the best they can for San Diego State," Trevillion told Aztecsportsreport.com. " They want to be on top. And they want to keep winning games.
"That is something I have been apart of before, trying to build a program. I fell in love with the weather along with the people. Everyone is so personal, and it is a great city to be in. As it gets closer to signing day, I'm sure I want to go to San Diego State. I can't wait to do what I can for those coaches."
Never miss a local story.
The Aztecs project Trevillion to play defensive back and wide receiver isn't out of the question.
"They feel I can be a DB because there are a lot of opening spots," he said. "I'm open to doing whatever it takes to get on the field. I was known for playing wide receiver in high school but I consider myself a good athlete so I feel comfortable with it. They will give me a chance at multiple positions."
The 6-foot-2 Trevillion passed for over 1,800 yards and 12 touchdowns, leading Ole' Brook to a 28-20 victory over Pascagoula in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
