Former NFL coach Jon Gruden continued his recent history of expecting big things out of the New Orleans Saints.
On a recent episode of Sportscenter, Gruden, now an ESPN analyst, was asked by Mike Tirico - his Monday Night Football co-host - if the Saints would win 10 or more games in 2012.
"I just have a feeling about these Saints that they're always going to win more," Gruden said. "I just don't see anybody stopping them in the Dome. I think they're going to win seven or eight games at home. They have such an advantage of playing there, they're going to find a way to rally under difficult circumstances. You watch. I think they're gong to win more."
Never miss a local story.
The Saints went undefeated last season at the Superdome, helping them finish the regular season at 13-3.
Which teams threaten to beat the Saints in the Big Easy? I've got three for you, all in a November to Remember:
Nov. 5 vs. Philadelphia - Depends if the NFC version of the NY Jets has imploded by this point in the season, and whether the injured ribs of QB Michael Vick are holding up...
Nov. 11 vs. Atlanta - Gruden also picked the Falcons to win 10 or more games. Last season, the Saints outscored Atlanta 24-6 in the second half en route to a 45-16 rout at the Dome.
Nov. 25 vs. San Francisco - The heroics of TE Vernon Davis knocked the Saints out of the playoffs last season. Will he end the Dome streak this time around?
(Saints home game Aug. 25 vs. Houston comes in at a close fourth)
