Indians trounce Citronelle

Corey Jackson scored 19 points as Biloxi thumped Citronelle, Ala., 79-29 in their season opener Wednesday night in Semmes, Ala.

Guy Payne added 13 points, while Jeremiah Dunnings had 10 for the Indians. Biloxi is the defending Class 5A state champion.

@BR Body bold Lede colon:Picayune girls 59, Moss Point 20: Andrea Jackson scored 16 points as the Lady Tide (2-0) remained unbeaten. Sharanda Jackson had 10.

Biloxi girls 67, St. Patrick 35: Molly Haynes had 16 points to lead Biloxi (3-0). Camille Dunnings and Brandi Parker each had 10. Joharda Boyd led the Lady Irish with 15 points. St. Patrick’s Ashleigh Davis had 11 points.

Ocean Springs girls 72, St. Martin 41: Breanna Edwards and Kiah Joiner each scored 13 points. Hali Fcalfani and Laquesha Edwards each scored 12 for the Lady Greyhounds (3-0).

D’Iberville girls 52, Vancleave 49: Ariel Russell and Kayleigh Anspach each had 14 points. Jordyn Foster grabbed 17 rebounds for the Lady Warriors (3-0) in the Vancleave Tipoff Tournament.

Vancleave was led by Gabby Scott’s 16 points. Rakaya Hughes added 13. Scott, Presley Owen, Anspach all made the all-tournament team. Foster was tournament’s MVP.

Pass Christian girls 52, Lumberton 29: Jasmine Bradley scored 10 points as the Lady Pirates improved to 2-0.

Bay High 50, Picayune 33: Demitry Johnson scored 14 points to lead the Tigers (2-0). Vincent Gable’s 13 led the Maroon Tide (0-1).

Vancleave boys 52, D’Iberville 39: Vancleave’s Tyler Bray and Tim Bond each had 15 points in the Vancleave Tipoff title game. The Bulldogs are 2-0 on the season. D’Iberville was led by Alex Klodnicki’s 14 points.
