BILOXI -- IP Casino Resort teased with advertisements and billboards that started people talking about what kind of epidemic it will release this morning.
It's Wintagious, a new slot machine campaign, and all the advertising is now being changed to let people know what it's about.
The slots will be looser across the casino, said Bradley Rhines, vice president of marketing and player development.
"I think a lot of people will be talking about it," he said.
Players have three ways to win on three banks of designated $1 slots. They can hit the jackpot that starts at $2,500 and must win by $5,000. Or, Rhines said, they can win the linked Hot Zone jackpot that starts at $250 and must hit by $500. When the $500 jackpot hits, "One person wins, you all win," he said. Everyone playing one of the designated $1 slots with their player's club card gets $10 in free play whenever there's a winner.
"It certainly creates a great gaming experience," said Rhines.
Wintagious also has spread to designated penny, two-cent and nickel slots at IP.
Rhines said Wintagious is the beginning of multi-phase promotion.
"What we're trying to do is be completely different," he said. "It's not your traditional gaming advertising."
