PASCAGOULA — A Jackson County jury deliberated about two hours this afternoon before finding Frank D. Patton guilty of murder by deliberate design.

Circuit Court Judge Robert Krebs immediately afterwards sentenced Patton to life in prison for the fatal shooting of Patton’s wife, 30-year-old Remika Patton.

The jury began deliberations today around 1:33 p.m. and also considered an instruction on whether Patton was guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Remika Patton was the mother of two children. She was shot to death on Feb. 23, 2008, at the couple’s home on Hilma Street in Moss Point.
