Edna Mae Sanders of Diamondhead has been denied a new trial in the murder of her husband, who died after he was doused with hot cooking oil.

Circuit Court Judge Larry Bourgeois has signed an order denying her request for a new trial. The order was filed today in Circuit Court in Hancock County.

Her husband, Sherman Sanders, was 53 when he died a week after the incident in July 2006. She was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison in April 2008.
