Island View’s proposed lease cuts port slice of gambling pie

The Island View Casino Resort in Gulfport could sign an amended lease with the state port that will allow it to build a second casino and pay the port 2 percent of gross gambling revenue that exceeds $170 million from its existing casino and the new one. The 5 percent rate Island View pays in the current lease will continue to apply to gross gambling revenue of more than $25 million to $170 million.

We look forward to Fun Time in Gulfport

The Gulfport City Council finally approved Fun Time USA. It’s the sort of kid-friendly attraction that the city and Coast need with the developers promising an economical way to spend several hours in a spot that’s handy to visitors.
