John T. Wade is 1995 graduate of Mississippi State University who worked as a project manager for several companies and is the third generation of registered professional engineers in his family. In 2004 he became the first person to take and pass the fire protection engineering licensing exam in Mississippi and was a member of the design team that won the 2006 John Wesley Powell Prize for Historic Preservation for the project to renovate and reconstruct the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site and Museum. Today he is a partner in Gulf States Engineering and helped grow the firm from three people in one office to a major engineering firm with offices in Mississippi and Alabama, providing services and overseeing construction worth over $4 billion, including three of the five largest projects in the Mobile area. He is also owner of TRT Holdings, a real estate holding company, and a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Vancleave Volunteer Fire Department.
