HATTIESBURG -- The federal government has rested its case in the prosecution of two former Harrison County jailers.

Attorney Jim Davis, who represents Ryan Michael Teel, will begin presenting his defense this afternoon. When he has concluded, federal public defenders will then present defense for James Ricky "Rick" Gaston.

Attorneys for both defendants argued motions before U.S. District Judge Louis Guirola Jr., asking for dismissal or to be tried separately. The judge denied all of their motions.
