NEW RULES
Throw out the rule book. There are so many myths surrounding marriages: don't go to bed angry; one day you'll just fall out of love. But that doesn't mean they have to be true for you. The June issue of Good Housekeeping revamps myths around marriage pitfalls, creating new rules. They are:
- Don't ever go to bed angry? Psh. Sleeping on it will make you calm and well-rested, the best way to be when ironing out conflicts.
- Falling out of love? A marriage doesn't run on feelings; successful marriages take hard work.
- Think getting older means your sex life goes stale? There's no reason you and your spouse won't become more sexually connected as time goes on.
- Empty nesting? Forget the kids and allow your relationship to grow with the new freedom.
- Midlife crisis? They are not crises and men aren't the only ones who experience them.
FUN FACT
Sixty-four percent of women admit they sexually tease men, according to the May issue of Men's Health magazine.
