The fishermen aligned along the concrete bulwarks today are a motley lot; both racially and economically, they are a varied group. Yet they have something in common - a love for the pursuit of fish. In his book, The Compleat Angler, written in England in 1653, Izaak Walton termed it, "the gentle art of fishing." And so it is. The joy of the quest, the congeniality, and good humor of the fishermen are reflected in their faces. - Diary, autumn 2008
