There is an air of familiarity about three of tonight's state playoff football games for South Mississippi teams.

Ocean Springs faces Hattiesburg in a rematch of last year's playoff game.

George County and Meridian have dueled the last two years in the playoffs.

And Picayune fell at Wayne County two years ago in a wild game in Waynesboro.

Three undefeated teams are playing tonight in the six games- D'Iberville, Wayne County and Forest.

And four of the teams display only one loss - Ocean Springs, Meridian, Oak Grove and Quitman.

Doug's Picks has incrementally been gaining some ground, going 9-2 last week. We now stand at 107-29, for a winning percentage of .786. With only six playoff games, it could be hard to reach that magical plane of .800.

With that said, let's get on with the picks.

Hattiesburg at Ocean Springs - Ocean Springs won the 2007 playoff collision 31-24. The Greyhound defense has only given up more than one touchdown in two games - Petal and George County. And they made a big defensive play to win in OT over George County. This should be head-knocking game, with both teams showing their running prowess. As they say, this is why you play for home-field advantage. Ocean Springs 24, Hattiesburg 21.

Harrison Central at Oak Grove - This is a tough place for the Red Rebs' first playoff appearance in six years. Both teams defeated George County. Petal rallied to defeat Harrison Central while Oak Grove dealt Petal its only loss. Experience and home-field advantage favor Oak Grove. We have a hunch HCHS can win this game if they are hanging around by halftime. Harrison Central 27, Oak Grove 26.

George County at Meridian - Meridian defeated the Rebels in one of weirdest playoff games in history two years ago. Then the Rebels crushed Meridian last year. It's hard to go against a 10-1 Wildcat team in Ray Stadium. Meridian 24, George County 14.

Quitman at D'Iberville - The Warriors received a major scare last week, perhaps a combination of overconfidence and an excellent game plan from Mendenhall. Quitman can play defense but we like D'Iberville's explosive offense. D'Iberville 21, Quitman 7.

Picayune at Wayne County - Like their brethren in Harrison Central and George County, the Maroon Tide venture into a tough den to play. Wayne County is undefeated and is one of the preseason favorites to win it all in 4A. Wayne County 28, Picayune 14.

St. Patrick at Forest - It's important to be playing your best football at this time of the year. And the Fighting Irish have been playing well since late in the second quarter of a win over Lumberton. Forest is unbeaten but we like the production of Beau Underwood and company. St. Patrick 17, Forest 13.
