The first corner of the Region 8-4A triangle was completed last week when Picayune ran past St. Stanislaus.

The second corner of the triangle takes place tonight when St. Stanislaus invades an overflow Warrior Stadium to face D'Iberville.

The triangle will be completed on Halloween when Picayune likewise comes trick-or-treating to Warrior Stadium.

For the offensive-minded, this has been the division to watch this season.

Picayune is averaging 40.7 points a game. SSC checks in at 39.0 and D'Iberville at 37.1. And the Warriors could be scoring more since Coach Singleton has been resting his offensive starters for a good bit of the second half of a number of games.

Doug's Picks has been scoring well lately in the predictions, going 8-3 last week. We missed St. Martin's upset of Moss Point but did call Petal's one-point win over Harrison Central. For the season, we are 67-20 for a winning percentage of .770.

No doubt, the St. Stanislaus-D'Iberville game is a marquee matchup. Dylan Favre comes into the game throwing for 2,442 yards and 30 TDs.

D'Iberville has a big front line of defense, led by end Dylan Holley. And they have the offensive firepower in Jake Miller, Mark Seymour, Kevin Norwood and Jacoby Bell.

We like the Warriors defense in this one but there will be some points on the scoreboard. D'Iberville 42, St. Stanislaus 21.

Pascagoula at Biloxi - The Tribe has had problems stopping the run but on a hunch, we think they get win No. 1 in this traditional game. Biloxi 24, Pascagoula 23.

Hancock at Petal - Good chance for ambush for the Hawks. But we'd prefer it in Hawks Stadium. Petal 21, Hancock 14.

Harrison Central at Ocean Springs - Red Rebels are frustrated after a couple of back-to-back one-point losses. Greyhounds enjoy being back at home. Ocean Springs 24, Harrison Central 22.

Gulfport at George County - This was almost upset No. 2. Again, home-field advantage is a factor. George County 21, Gulfport 14.

Picayune at Bay High - Tide has scored 42 or more in last four games. Not a good time to play them, even if you are at home. Picayune 42, Bay High 21.

Poplarville at Vancleave - An opportunity for the Bulldogs to go over .500. Vancleave 24, Poplarville 7.

Stone at Gautier - One of the toughest picks of the week. Both teams are hot but we like the Tomcats during this stretch run. Stone 20, Gautier 17.

Long Beach at PRC - Upset No. 2, although this game probably is a pick 'em. Bearcats coming off an open date, PRC off its first win. Goldfinger indicated a Bearcat win. Long Beach 18, PRC 14.

East Central at Moss Point - Tigers brace for Sam Fairley after upset loss. Moss Point 35, East Central 7.

St. Martin at Forrest County AHS - St. Martin riding high after upset of Moss Point. Not an accommodating venue, though. FCAHS 35, St. Martin 24.

Pass Christian at Sumrall - Sumrall has lost six in a row. Make it seven, and Pass' second win. Pass Christian 31, Sumrall 24.

St. Patrick at Bassfield - Bassfield beat Prentiss by 47. St. Patrick beat Prentiss by 44. By the numbers. Bassfield 24, St. Patrick 21.
