Wilson paces Alabama over Pigott, Mississippi State

Ross Wilson hit a seventh-inning home run to lead Alabama to a 4-3 comeback win over Mississippi State on Sunday.

Alabama (22-19, 8-10 Southeastern Conference) took advantage of a two-out walk to win the series finale in the seventh inning.

The Bulldogs (15-23, 4-14 SEC) scored all three runs in the first two innings to take a 3-0 lead.

Wilson was the Crimson Tide's leading hitter, going 4-for-9 (.444) with three home runs and five RBIs. He also scored five runs in the three-game series.

Austin Graham (3-1), who got out of jam in the seventh inning on just three pitches out of the bullpen, pitched the final three innings for the win. He allowed two hits and struck out three MSU hitters.

MSU starter Justin Pigott held the Tide to two runs and four hits through 52/3 innings. He added three walks and three strikeouts. He left the game in the sixth inning after a two-out error and walk.

In Saturday's doubleheader, Alabama won 21-7, then lost 6-4.

South Carolina 4, Ole Miss 1 - South Carolina's Blake Cooper pitched a complete game to lead the Gamecocks to a 4-1 win over Ole Miss on Sunday.

South Carolina (29-11, 11-7 SEC) won two of three in the weekend series against the Rebels (25-15, 10-8).

Phil Disher went 2-for-4, including a two-run single in the first, and Whit Merrifield and Justin Smoak also had two hits apiece for the Gamecocks, who led 4-0 after two innings.

Zach Miller had two of Ole Miss' six hits. Cody Overbeck had the only run for the Rebels on a ninth-inning homer. One more runner got on base before Cooper (5-3) closed out the game. Cody Satterwhite (3-3) allowed eight hits and four runs in six innings to pick up the loss.

Florida International 7, New Orleans 5 - The Privateers fell for the sixth straight Sunday against a Sun Belt foe, losing to Florida International 7-5 after opening the weekend with consecutive wins.

With the score tied at five in the top of the ninth, the Golden Panthers got a lead off single by Junior Arrojo, who advanced to second on a Corey Lozano sacrifice bunt. Three singles in a row followed putting across two FIU runs to provide the final score. David Burch took the loss to drop to 2-1 on the season for UNO (25-13, 9-8 Sun Belt).

Pascagoula's Joey Butler was 0-4 for the Privateers. He was 7-for-7 in the first two games of the series.
