Storm damage changes venue

Tornado damage to the Georgia Dome has forced SEC officials to restructure the schedule of the SEC Tournament and move the event to Alexander Memorial Coliseum at the Georgia Tech campus.

Friday night’s storm also means Mississippi State’s semifinal opponent will have to play twice today.

The storm hit downtown Atlanta during the overtime of State’s game with Alabama on Friday night. The game was delayed for more than an hour before the Bulldogs slipped past Alabama 69-67.

A severe weather alert forced the postponement of the late game between Kentucky and Georgia.

Georgia and UK will play at 11 a.m. Central time today at Georgia Tech. The semifinals will begin at 5, with SEC regular-season champion Tennessee to face Arkansas in the first game.

Mississippi State will face the winner of the Kentucky-Georgia game at 7:30 tonight.
