Severe weather is making its way through South Mississippi.

AccuWeather has issued an alert saying an unstable air mass in advance of a cold front is moving toward the area, generating high wind gusts generally in the 30 to 40 mph range outside of the storms.

Some gusts may approach 60 mph, AccuWeather says. The high wind watch is in effect until 4 p.m.

Pea- to golf-ball-sized hail has been reported throughout South Mississippi.
