SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran coach Dennis Parker announced his resignation but will remain for the 0-9 team's final game of the season.

TLU on Saturday will visit Mississippi College. Parker's resignation takes effect Monday.

Texas Lutheran athletic director Bill Miller said the school in Seguin (suh-GEEN') looks forward to moving the football program "in a new and successful direction."

Parker was 6-23 at TLU over three seasons and currently has a 12-game losing streak. Parker previously coached at North Texas.

On the high school level, he was head coach at Converse-Judson, winning a title in 1983. Parker won a second 5A title at Marshall in 1990.
