JACKSON, Miss. -- Two groups on the opposite ends of the political spectrum are holding rallies in central Mississippi this weekend to discuss national health care legislation.

The Children's Defense Fund is sponsoring a "stroller brigade" march, starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday outside the state Capitol in downtown Jackson. Participants will walk to nearby Smith Park to urge Congress to expand publicly funded health insurance to a larger number of children from low-income families.

Starting at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Rankin County Pavilion in Brandon, conservatives will gather as part of a national Tea Party event. Organizers say Republican Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant and some physicians are scheduled to speak. The sponsors oppose a large government role in health care.
