Gasquet ousted in Bogota quarters

Bogota, Colombia ( - Top-seeded Richard Gasquet was an upset victim in Friday's quarterfinals of the Claro Open Colombia, falling to Victor Estrella Burgos in straight sets.

The eighth-seeded Estrella Burgos, ranked 92nd in the world, needed just 65 minutes to record a 6-3, 6-4 victory and advance to the semifinals of this hard court event.

Defending champion Ivo Karlovic was able to win his quarterfinal match, with the second-seeded Croat earning his 250th career ATP Tour win with a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) decision over Jimmy Wang.

Next up for the veteran Karlovic will be fellow 35-year-old Radek Stepanek after the fourth-seeded Czech downed No. 6 seed Alejandro Gonzalez by a 6-4, 6-4 count.

Estrella Burgos will take on Bernard Tomic, who upended third-seeded Vasek Pospisil in a 6-4, 6-4 verdict on Friday, in the other semifinal bout.
