Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced Thursday that the conference has reached an agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group to produce and distribute 100 events each of the next two years, including six Southern Miss football games this fall.
A total of 30 C-USA football games will be televised on Sinclair stations this season.
Conference USA will be part of the newly launched American Sports Network (ASN), a collegiate sports initiative that will air on a number of Sinclair's broadcast television stations. ASN will be led by Sinclair Network Chief Operating Officer Doron Gorshein.
The six Southern Miss games that will be broadcast as part of the ASN will include home games against Appalachian State (Sept. 20), Louisiana Tech (Oct. 25), Marshall (Nov. 8) and UAB (Nov. 29), while its road games against Middle Tennessee (Sept. 27) and North Texas (Oct. 18) will be broadcast.
There are no Sinclair TV stations in Mississippi. The closest Sinclair stations to the Coast are WJTC (Mobile), WEAR (Pensacola), WFGZ (Fort Walton, Fla.) and WDBB (Birmingham, Ala.)
Conference USA also has national television partnerships with Fox Media Group, CBS Sports Network and ESPN.
Conference USA also announced a game time change for the Golden Eagles' home game against Rice on Sept. 27. Southern Miss and the Owls will now start at 6 p.m., and will still be broadcast on Fox College Sports.
