BILOXI -- A limousine driver was caught off guard Wednesday when his vehicle caught fire on Interstate 10 at the Cedar Lake Road exit.

The driver, who was alone in the stretch SUV limo, was not injured.

Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney said the driver, who had come from New Orleans, noticed smoke coming from the hood and pulled over.

The front end was soon engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived and put out the blaze.

Boney said the fire started in the engine compartment, but the cause wasn't immediately clear.
